Versioni alternative: - There were 3 filmed endings to the movie. The first is the one that is in the normal release of the movie. The second, available on the DVD version, follows the path of the first one, but is just different and does not contain the sequence in which the ambulance crashes into the house or the part where Mark Rumsfield slide tackles Hans Klopek. It does have a few more scenes though like Hans being interrogated and Dr. Klopek giving a speech on what is wrong with the suburbs. Rube also tells Ray that he was going to enjoy having him over for their final dinner. The third, which has not been released in any form officially, is supposed to have Ray get killed in the van, the Klopeks are pronounced innocent, and the garbies are found bound and gagged in the Klopek's trunk. The last ending follows the ending contained in the script. - A deleted scene has Ray cooking at the barbeque. It isn't the barbeque that he needs to fix though, it is a metal one that sits by his brick one. - A deleted scene has Ray, Ricky, Walter, and Bonnie all standing by a ladder which leads to someone's roof. By their clothes, it is the same day they break into Walter's house. - A deleted scene shows Ray telling Carol that someone thinks that "the Klopeks are evil incarnate." This sequence goes along with the part when they are watching Jeopardy. - A deleted scene has Ray and Art find something in the Klopek's back yard which appears to be some sort of a bomb. - The UK video removes some of the images that Ray sees when he's watching the TV (eg: The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc.) The movie has been shown uncut several times on BBC 1.

Plot: This story takes place in a typical American neighborhood, when some new neighbors come to live in the house next to Ray Peterson. These new people are really strange; nobody has ever seen them, their house is a real mess, and during the night you can hear weird noises from their basement. The only think they know is their name: Klopeks. One day Walter (an old man of the neighborhood) suddenly disappears and everyone starts to suspect the Klopeks... All Ray Peterson wanted to do was enjoy his vacation. Instead, the vacation turned into a nightmare once the new neighbors moved in. After that, all of the other people on his street began spying on the new ones and learned the shocking truth about them. Ray Peterson takes a week off from work just to walk around in pyjamas all day, read the newspaper and lay low. However, Raay Peterson have some very peculiar neighbors. In fact he has no normal neighbors, but one neighbor in particular is especially strange. Therefore Ray Peterson and the other neighbors decide to investigate what's wrong with the Klopeks, and the relaxing week off from work becomes something far from relaxing...
