Plot: Lucien is a dwarf, who works hard in a large legal office. His only friend is trapeze circus artist Isis. One day he gets the attention of singer Paola Bendoni and falls in love with her. Lucien L'Hotte is a dwarf in his thirties. He is a conscientious employee, in charge of writing insult letters in the divorce cases which his law firm deals with. Unable to think of marriage himself, he ardently destroys that of others. One afternoon, he meets Isis, an angelic juvenile circus artist of his "size", and later becomes his only friend. In the next afternoon, he meets his client, singer Paola Bendoni, and falls in love with her. However, she later reconcile with her husband. The rejected Lucien kills her (and makes her husband the prime suspect), quits the law firm, and joins Isis' circus. He promises Isis to partner her in a new clown act. However, Isis' father, the owner of the circus, forbids them to work together...
