Plot: The story of a young intern in a large metropolitan hospital trying to learn his profession, deal with the problems of his patients, and win the respect of the senior doctor in his specialty, internal medicine. Dr. James Kildare was a young and dedicated intern with Blair General Hospital. His boss, mentor and father figure was Dr. Leonard Gillespie, and together they tended to the physical ailments of their patients--sometimes even becoming involved in their personal problems as well. Later, as Kildare became more confident and secure in his abilities, he was promoted to resident, but his dedication to his patients never wavered.
