Versioni alternative: - The overseas theatrical version of the pilot film, available in the U.S. on home video, has an alternate ending which quickly resolves the Laura Palmer murder case and ends "Twin Peaks". Some of this footage was used as the ending of a series episode. - When the series was re-run on Bravo (a US cable channel), each episode featured an introduction by the Log Lady. The introductions were interesting, but unfortunately, as the Log Lady is so obtuse, they didn't help explain anything. - Some prints of the Special Edition of the pilot episode (with the ending that solves the murder) have two new scenes inserted that are not in most versions. The two added scenes are: - An alternate introduction to Agent Cooper: In the scene, Cooper eats the meal (along with a "damn fine cup of coffee") he described to Diane during his drive to Twin Peaks. This is the shorter version of a scene that actually appeared in the second episode of "Twin Peaks". In the versions in which this scene appears in, the scene occurs right before the scene at the sawmill. - The other was a longer version of the scene where Mrs. Palmer has a vision of the killer. In the short version of the scene, Mrs. Palmer takes a long drag from her ciggarette, and then dreams about the events of that morning, eventually leading to her seeing the murder in a vision. In the longer version, Mrs. Palmer has a vision of a gloved hand picking up the gold necklace that James and Donna burried earlier, then Mrs. Palmer takes the drag from her ciggarette, and then dreams about the events of that morning, eventually leading to her seeing the murder in a vision. The part that was added to the longer version of this scene was taken from the original ending of the pilot. - The prints that contain these scenes are not marked, so there is no way of telling if the version you are watching is the longer version until you get to the points where the new scenes occur.
