Sinopsi:

Bernardo Bertolucci’s second film takes its title from Talleyrand : “only those who lived before the revolution know the sweetness of life” and its inspiration from Stendhal’s novel “The Charterhouse of Parma”. It seems almost incredible that such a stunning piece of cinematic virtuosity could have been so successfully brought off at the age of only 22 !
